Pineapple Fried Rice @ Thai Restaurant

One of the type of food I enjoyed seeing most is Pineapple Fried Rice that's cooked by this Thai Restaurant. I used the word 'seeing', is because a good food presentation is very crucial part of a restaurant. What I see is what I eat, and if I like what i see, i'd definitely eat it. It increases my appetite when dishes are presented in such manner. What they did is they used a real pineapple, dig out what's inside and that's the main ingredient, and re-used that empty shell to store the rice. If cooked in this way, the taste is then further preserved and it enhances the smell of pineapple.

Now my family and I have been to this place many times, and this is actually one of the signature dish. There's also this one big buff staff that likes to entertain his customers. On one occasion he took our order and the way he did it is quite quirky and funny. Later on my dad would ask him, is the pineapple shell being re-used over and over again? He kept saying some other thing in reply and we kept questioning him. It lasted for quite awhile and we decided to just drop it. It was really hilarious. I would think it's being re-used, and it might also not been due to hygiene reasons. You can clean a plate with dishwasher, but how is it possible to clean a pineapple shell with it? Just doesn't make sense, and surely feels weird. The soap would either been soaked inside and the outer part will turn into quite a wrinkled shape. It then later is dried by bringing it to sun bathe? Maybe.

While we dine, he would just walk back and forth between our table and other diners table. He would then ask if the food taste good, and if everything is ok. Haha. One would think just maybe, that he is the boss, and dressed up as a staff. I'd rate him A++ for his service. Maybe he should work in the entertainment industry. His size could even match a wrestler, a security guard might also suit him. I immediately thought of therock, and his face, hahaha.

Well this place generally isn't a very nicely built place. Firstly, it's attached to an apartment. This is actually a cool idea, but they built it wrongly. The apartment is on the other side, and to get to this place, the folks have to walk quite a distance, crossing unnecessary obstacles, taking a lift that takes forever to reach it's destination. And then, they started charging people a penny for parking fee. I mean, really? This is not a shopping complex, and you've already earned your fair share of cash by selling this place to the shop owners. Even some of the largest shopping complex don't even charge the customers, and you gotta be a real good place to even consider that. But nope, the parking lot is as run down as a haunted garage, and when it rains, the basement will flood. No matter how you look at it, the sheer inconvenience us customers had to go through just to dine in at what would  be a normal restaurant is just unacceptable.

I can't help but think they are losing business than actually making profit where their shop is. And I have to remind myself that the location is important, and always do a research before buying or renting any place to do business. I might think i strike gold, but if the developer of the place decides to play tricks, it's almost game over for me. So remember folks, research the developer for the place you are thinking of setting up a shop, because they might just create something that screw up your success plan.
