| Fish Slice with rice and Egg |
Place newly opened not too long ago, and they serve quite abit of things. Maybe abit is an understatement, but I only eat a certain type of food. The dishes they have are pretty interesting including a Thai style fish. The way they prepare the fish is nothing short of amazing. Lots of spices are put in the sauce and then it is cooked slowly with it. The taste is later being savored even further by heating it using charcoal. By the looks of it, it definitely looks expensive. Sour taste. Nice. Price, also 'nice'.
Of course, when I am eating alone, and most of the time I eat alone, I can only order individual dishes. I chose fish slice with egg because it's just simple and nice. The fish is first deep fried, and then being dipped in sauce. The type of sauces can range from sweet and sour, ginger, to down right spicy with chili and pepper. I don't particularly like spicy stuff too much, so i opted for sweet and sour. Lot's of people say I am not truly Malaysian, and that includes my parents. Hehe. What can I do, my taste buds don't agree with it. Spicy things will just make me downright not feeling good, although if i do take it, it might increase my food intake by taking lots of rice to dull the spiciness.
The way they cook it is unlike many others, somehow I can stil taste the crunchiness of it, and even though the sauce seems like it will make it soggy, it doesn't. And since it's tomato sauce, what better way to eat it with an egg right? Over in PH, apart from this place, there's also one other place i used to go, which this time the name is really by the name of Aunty. They have very simple dishes and the portion i would say is quite small. One of the staff amazes me because she isn't local. In my mind she could be better of working elsewhere than to help start up a restaurant like these. The boss of the place, what i heard is not from a good background, but wanted to turn a new leaf by doing a legit business, so this lady seems to be helping him. I stopped going to the shop shortly after because the price they charge is abit on the high side, coupled with small amount of food, not a good combo. I do remember they have catering service which is quite efficient. There was a time it rained, and i decided to test if they deliver, and they did. Kudos to them.
However, there is a place near them that's selling hawker like food, and the price the charge is so cheap. I really wonder how would they survive in the present time. I go to the zap fan place more often now and since my bro also works in the same place i am, that's why i spent alot of time there.
